One meeting down!

Hey dudes!

So one meeting down. It was pretty cool, we were all pretty much very exciting about crafting flags. Anyways a new time and day is needed since a lot of you showed interest but for one reason or another could not make it. What do you say about seven thirty on Tuesday? In any case i'll make more of an effort to publicize the meetings so ALL can join who want!

At the end of the meeting we decided it was a good idea for everyone to bring in some of their work and information/images of people or a thing that they draw on in their own work.
Next time we will have more people in attendance and we will also do some more meet and greet and eat MORE COOKIES!

Collective Art Thinking Space

HEY! WELCOME!!!!!!

THIS IS SARAH LAWRENCE'S STUDENT ART COLLECTIVE!

The Collective Art Thinking Space (C.A.T.S.) aims to serve as an arts organization comprised of artists and supporters from all disciplines within the arts world who are interested in creating and fostering an active arts community unique to Sarah Lawrence College. We hope to attract members who are interested in participating in both the creation and the appreciation of art both on campus and off. Founded by a visual arts student and a writing student, we place high value on the benefits of cross-discipline collaboration and as such the collective will not feel complete without representatives from a variety of genres: music, visual art, writing, theater, dance, et cetera.

We will meet every Thursday in Hiembold, more specifically the sculpture studio, and eat treats, talk shop, critique each other's work, screen fantastic films, and plan outtings to galleryies, museums, or what ever we want. And that "WE DO WHAT WE WANT" sentiment is a huge part of this whole collective. Please use this blog and speak up in meeting about what you think we should be doing. I will post every Monday and present different event and meeting ideas that I would love to have feed back on. The blog is ment to be keep a constant dialogue going with in the group.
